Participants must serve coffee-based beverages to the panel of judges. They will be judges on their precision, creativity and overall knowledge of coffee.
This category distinguishes the best coffee taster. The concept is simple: three cups, two featuring the same coffee and one witih another. During each round, participants must identify the outlier as quickly as possible.
The Brewers Cup event distinguishes the know-how of hand-brewed filter coffee and the quality of service. Competitors must prepare and serve three individual drinks to the judges in each round.
Divided into three phases, this test distinguishes the best roaster in the competition. Competitors must first assess the quality of the green coffee offered, then develop an appropriate roasting profile and finally, roast the coffee.
Undoubtedly the most spectacular event of the championships, Latte Art consists of drawing imposed figures and free-form designs in a milk-based coffee. Participants are judged on their precision and their creativity.
Coffee in Good Spirits
This category brings together the world of coffee and that of mixology. The candidates, bartender or barista, must impress the judges with their unique creation of hot or cold cocktails based on alcohol and coffee.
As qualifiers for the world championships, these events bring together professional and amateur baristas in a lively atmosphere throughout the duration of the festival. Learn more about the championships by visiting SCA France.
